Traction springs
Description
Gas Traction Springs by Bansbach Easylift– Reliable Pulling Force for Demanding Applications
In addition to the well-known gas compression springs, Bansbach also offers gas traction springs for applications that require a controlled pulling force rather than a pushing force.
These springs are ideal for machine construction, medical equipment, ergonomic systems, and industrial applications where components need to return safely and smoothly to their initial position.
Compression vs. Traction – What’s the Difference?
Both types operate on the same principle: a cylinder filled with pressurized nitrogen.
The difference lies in the direction of the force:
- Gas compression springs deliver force in an outward direction. When you press the piston rod, the spring wants to return to its original, fully extended position. Perfect for opening and supporting hatches, lids, and covers.
- Gas traction springs work the opposite way: they deliver force in an inward direction. When you pull the piston rod, the spring wants to return inside. Ideal for applications where components need to be retracted or held in position in a controlled manner.
Main features
- Traction force up to 2,500 N with damping and up to 4,000 N without damping
- Available in various diameters and stroke lengths
- Maintenance-free and suitable for intensive use
- A lockable gas traction spring is also among the possibilities
