Frequency converters, inverters or frequency drives are used to control the speed of an AC electric motor.
In the basic versions, the V/F curve (voltage-frequency) is adjusted, but the versions that regulate the speed of the AC motor by means of vector control give a higher starting torque.
In addition to inverters or frequency controllers that work open-loop, i.e. without feedback from the motor, there are also versions available that can work closed-loop by comparing an encoder signal with the desired speed for better control of the movement.
Finally, the choice also depends on the control method, such as a built-in PLC function or Ethercat or Profinet communication..
elow you can find an overview of the frequency converters for motors that we offer from the manufacturer INOVANCEus.
MD200 : simple open loop frequency converters up to 3.7kW
MD520 : High-performance frequency controller up to 500kW, both open and closed loop and for all types of motors
MD800 : Ultra-compact frequency controller for multi-axis applications, ideal for control over Profinet, Ethercat or Ethernet IP
MD810 : industrial MultiDrive solution up to 355 kW per power module
