Oriental Motor

Electric drives are at the heart of Oriental Motor's product range. With field-proven technology and long experience, they are used in the most demanding applications.

Oriental Motor's company history dates back to 1885, when Yasutaro Kuraishi laid the foundations with the production and distribution of electric medical equipment. Soon after, motor production began. After World War II, the company was re-established in 1950 as a limited liability company under the name ‘Toyo Dendoki’ and renamed ‘Oriental Motor’ in 1953. Initially the focus was on the development and production of asynchronous motors, but over time other product groups were added, such as brushless motors, stepper motors, servo motors, actuators and fans..

Today, customers can choose from more than 50,000 high-quality products and more than 3,000 employees work for the company worldwide. In Europe, there are subsidiaries in the UK, France, Italy and Switzerland, in addition to the European headquarters in Düsseldorf.

Qualtity and environment

The quality of Oriental Motor's products is based on a firmly entrenched quality consciousness of its employees and work processes optimised accordingly. As a Japanese company, the principle of continuous improvement (kaizen) is an integral part of the corporate culture. All products and work processes are constantly reviewed and improved.

Oriental Motor believes that achieving a low-carbon, recycling-oriented society and preserving and improving the global environment are critical to sustainable business operations. Oriental Motor contributes to the global protection of the environment by actively working to reduce the environmental impact of its operations, reduce energy consumption by improving product efficiency and limit the use of chemicals that adversely affect human health and the environment.
